One shop. Every piece, start to finish.
Tuckaway Woodworks started as a one-person shop in Colchester, Vermont, and at its core, it still operates with that same individual care. Every kitchen, vanity, and built-in passes through our hands, from the initial measurement to the final coat of finish.
As the business grew, we created Modern Craft Cabinetry, a name for the cabinetry side of what we do, separate from the furniture and millwork we also build. Different name, same shop: same bench, same standards, and the exact same commitment to a precision fit that's drawn and verified long before a single piece of wood is cut.
Today, we're growing intentionally. By bringing on dedicated talent and investing in more modern machinery, we're building capacity so more homes can receive our work, without ever sacrificing the precise craftsmanship that makes custom cabinetry worth choosing over stock.
Precise, built by hand
Every piece is cut for a tight, repeatable fit, then sanded, stained or painted, and sealed by hand before it leaves the shop.
4,500 sq. ft. and growing
Early 2025, we outgrew our original 2,000 sq. ft. home shop and moved into a larger space with upgraded machinery: more room to work, tighter tolerances, and a better finished product.
